MiSight Myopia Control
Concerned about your child's nearsightedness getting worse?
What is Myopia?
If you are having trouble seeing distant objects, but easy to see objects near to you, chances are you are myopic, also known as nearsighted. Myopia is a pretty common condition, and in children it can be inherited. Which means, if a parent has myopia their child may get it as well.
Since a child's vision can change often and unexpectedly from age 6 to 18, myopia is often discovered in them, and it may become worse as their body grows rapidly. Therefore it is important to start myopia control from an early age. Here are 4 common types of treatment for child myopia:
- MiSight
- Orthokeratology
- Myopia Control Eyeglass Lens
- Atropine eye drop
What are MiSight contact lenses?
FDA-approved CooperVision's MiSight 1 Day Contact Lenses are used to slow myopic progression in children and adults. They are daily disposable lenses, which is the safest type of contact lens with the lowest incidence of adverse events and lowest infection risk. They're more naturally comfortable to wear, and you can remove them at the end of the day.
How it works
Two treatment zones create myopic defocus with image focus in front of the retina, rather than behind it to slow axial elongation, and two correction zones correct myopia in all gaze positions.
